Using GPS to provide detailed information on a person’s location, this system allows a person with memory loss or a young child the freedom to move around town without getting lost. And a caregiver can keep an eye on them from a computer or smart phone.
Worn as a watch or a lightweight pager, the locator unit contains an SOS button if they get in trouble. The caregiver can see their location on a Google-type map and will receive updates or alarms by e-mail or text messages on their phone. Boundaries can be pre-set to alert the caregiver if the person goes beyond them. The wrist model also functions as a watch and a cell phone with an instant dial to the caregiver in case of emergency, allowing for two-way communication
